238th ACS National Meeting
August 22-26, 2010
The 238th ACS National Meeting will be held in Boston, Massachussetts this fall.  The Department of Chemistry will be holding a reception at this ACS meeting.  The reception will be on August 23rd in the Belvidere Salon A of the Hilton Boston Back Bay Hotel, 40 Dalton Street,  from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  Hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served.  All alumni are welcome to attend.  Please email chem-rsvp@scs.illinois.edu or call (217)-333-5071 by August 2nd if you plan to attend.
237th ACS National Meeting
March 21-25, 2010
The 237th ACS National Meeting will be held in San Francisco, California this spring.  The Department of Chemistry will be holding a reception at this ACS meeting.  The reception will be on March 22nd in the Market Street room of the Parc 55 Hotel, 55 Cyril Magnin Street,  from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  Hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served.  All alumni are welcome to attend.  Please email chem-rsvp@scs.illinois.edu or call (217)-333-5071 if you plan to attend.
237th ACS National Meeting
August 16-20, 2009
The 237th ACS National Meeting will be held in Washington, D.C.  The Department of Chemistry will be holding a reception at this ACS meeting.  The reception will be on August 17th in room 202 A of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place, NW, from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  Hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served.  All alumni are welcome to attend, and reservations are not required.
236th ACS National Meeting August 17-21, 2008 The 236th ACS National Meeting will be held in Philadelphia, PA. The University of Illinois will be holding a reception at this ACS Meeting.  The reception will be on August 18th from 5pm till 8pm in Room 307A in the Pennsylvania Convention Center. 
235th ACS National Meeting April 6-10, 2008 The 235th ACS National Meeting will be held in New Orleans, LA. (Please note there will not be a University of Illinois reception at this ACS Meeting).

Dr. Jonathan Sweedler were invested as the James R. Eiszner Endowed Chair in Chemistry and the James R. Eiszner Family Chair in Chemistry, respectively.

Dr. Nancy Makri was invested as the Edward William Gutgsell and Jane Marr Gutgsell Endowed Chair in Chemistry.
3M Organic Teaching
Lab Dedication
December 13, 2007 The redesign and remodel of the Organic Teaching Lab on the second floor of Noyes Laboratory was funded through the assistance of 3M Laboratories.
G.L. Clark Hall Dedication September 28, 2007 100 Noyes Laboratory was dedicated as G.L. Clark Hall.
Nelson J. Leonard Memorial May 14, 2007 Family and friends gathered to remember the life of Nelson J. Leonard.
Gutgsell Investiture April 30, 2007 Dr. Todd J. Martinez was invested as the Edward William Gutgsell and Jane Marr Gutgsell Endowed Chair in Chemistry.
Murchison-Mallory Investiture April 24, 2007 Dr. Jeffrey Moore was invested as the Murchison-Mallory Endowed Chair in Chemistry.
Rinehart Investiture November 7, 2006 Dr. John Hartwig was invested as the Kenneth L. Rinehart Endowed Chair in Natural Products Chemistry.
229th National ACS Meeting March 13-17, 2005 The 229th National ACS Meeting was held in San Diego, CA.
