Funds that Support the Department of Chemistry
Vital Needs Funds
These funds generally provide unrestricted support for all needs within the Chemistry Department. These needs include, but are not limited to: start-up funding for new faculty, student fellowship and scholarship support, and renovations funds.
Our current Vital Needs Funds include:
Lectureship and Professorship Funds
These funds support various lectureships and professorship positions within the Department. Named for distinguished faculty or alumni, the lectureship funds provide unique opportunities for students and faculty to hear lectures from chemical leaders all over the world.
Our current Lectureship and Professorship funds include:
- The Reynold C. Fuson Memorial Award in Chemistry
- The Roger Adams Chemistry Fund
- The John C. and Florence Bailar Lectureship Fund
- The Willis H. Flygare Memorial Fund
- The Carl Shipp Marvel Lecture Fund
Graduate Support Funds (Fellowships/Travel Awards)
These funds support fellowships for new and continuing graduate students, as well as awards to allow graduate students to travel to professional meetings in order to gain valuable experience and education.
Our current Graduate Support funds are as follows:
- The John C. Bailar Jr. Fellowship Fund
- The Harry G. Drickamer Endowment Fund
- The R. C. Fuson Fellowship Fund
- The J. C. Martin Memorial Fund
- The C. S. Marvel Fellowship Fund
Undergraduate Support Funds
These funds support undergraduate awards and research. They include funds named for former faculty and alumni, and provide undergraduate students with valuable research experience and recognition of accomplishments.
