In Memoriam: Clyde Arntzen

Dr. CLYDE E. ARNTZEN Dr. Clyde E. Arntzen, 95, of Juno Beach died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Waterford. Dr. Arntzen was born in Crescent City, IL. He lived in Jupiter from 1979-2003, moving into The Waterford Life Care Community in December, 2003. He earned a BS in Chemistry from the University of Illinois and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Iowa State University of Science and Technology. He worked for Westinghouse near Pittsburgh, PA for 36 years. At Westinghouse he held several management positions including Director of Westinghouse Materials Engineering and Manager of one of the divisions of the Westinghouse Research and Development Center. For twenty years he was very active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and received the District Award of Merit. His church activities in Pennsylvania and in the First Presbyterian Church of Tequesta, FL, included those of Elder, Scouting Coordinator, and Foundation director. For 67 years he was an active amateur radio operator; his Florida call letters were KD4KN. Survivors include his wife, Lois; a daughter, Linda A. Boldt of Appleton, WI; a son, Dr. Bruce C. Arntzen and a daughter-in-law, Patricia M. Arntzen of Maynard, MA; four grandchildren, Andrew (Jenifer) Boldt, David (Ellen) Boldt, Kaitlin Arntzen and Eric Arntzen and one great-grandchild, Henry Boldt.
