Martin Gruebele, Sharon Hammes-Schiffer, and Catherine Murphy Elected as Center for Advanced Study Professors

The Center for Advanced Study (CAS) is at the heart of the University's intellectual mission. It organizes scientific, humanities, and arts lectures and events that bring colleagues together. It also hosts Fellows and Associates for limited-time appointments with teaching release, so they can take their research agenda to the next level, and Chemistry has had a nice share of these. Every few years, CAS also elects a few campus faculty to the position of permanent CAS Professor. Jonathan Sweedler is currently a CAS Professor. He will be joined by three new CAS Professors: Sharon Hammes-Schiffer, Catherine Murphy, and Martin Gruebele.
