Chemists Celebrating Earth Day

The Women Chemists Committee along with the East Central Illinois ACS will be co-hosting "World of Colors: The Chemistry of Natural Dyes", an Earth day event on Monday, April 25th, 2016 from 6-7:30 pm at 263 Noyes Lab. Register online by April 15.
The minimum age is 10.
In celebration of Earth Day, this hands-on workshop will allow participants to learn about natural dyes. Throughout history, dyes derived from plants and minerals have been used to color textiles. Participants will learn about the history and chemistry of natural dyes and textiles and have the opportunity to do hands on activities using natural dyes to color provided fabrics.
