Sarah Kelly Sarah Kelly is head of the Research Science & Technology Group where she provides global management and leadership for approximately 330 Research S&T colleagues worldwide (Groton, St. Louis, La Jolla and Sandwich, UK) and manages a global budget of $100 MM. Sarah's role is to manage pre-CAN tracking and establish a collaborative partnership with Worldwide Research at all four sites with a focus on delivering as many projects as possible from CAN to FIH in six months.

Sarah joined Pfizer Groton in December 1986 as a Research Scientist in Process R&D, later renamed Chemical R&D. While in this department, Sarah served on many Exploratory Candidate Management Teams (ECMTs) as the Pharmaceutical Sciences contact. In 1997, she was named Exploratory Development zone head for Pharm Sci and joined the Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease Management Team. In 2001, Sarah was named Group Director of Chemical R&D and then transferred in May 2003 to Pharmaceutical R&D as Executive Director where she had the responsibility for the Science and Technology area. She served as a member on a number of teams including the Pharm R&D Line Council, the S&T LT and the WWPS Global PE & IP LT to name a few. Sarah was also the Groton/NL Labs Product Enhancement Management Team Chair.

In October 2005, Sarah was named head of the Pharm Sci Research Portfolio Leadership Group within Portfolio, Strategy & Operations (PSO) where she provided global management and leadership for Pharm Sci Research portfolio delivery. In that role, Sarah partnered with the PSO LT and other stakeholder groups to improve WWPS and PGRD business efficiency and performance in Research projects. Team involvement while in PSO included the Research Portfolio Team (RPT) which manages investments across the 11 Therapeutic areas in Research, the World Wide Pharm Sci Leadership Team (WWPSLT), the PSOLT, and the Research Portfolio Leadership Team.

Sarah received her PhD in 1986 from Yale University located in New Haven, Connecticut and her bachelor degree in chemistry in 1981 from Carleton College located in Northfield, Minnesota - her native state. Sarah has enjoyed living in Connecticut since 1981 and currently resides in the beautiful, historic town of Mystic. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys swimming, biking, skiing, scuba diving and boating with her family.
