Spring 2024

Interested in volunteering to inspire young students? Enjoy leading and performing science experiments? And for all James Scholar students, are you in need of honors credit? Then we are a perfect fit!

This semester we are holding in-person visits with Third Grade, Fourth Grade, Middle School, and High School classrooms within a 15-mile radius. Supplies will be delivered to the classrooms by a REACT Board Member, and volunteers will guide the students through chemistry experiments. We are also planning various special events with many community partners.

All volunteers will help with at least one event throughout the semester, in addition to more fun activities throughout the semester. Once assigned to a visit, you will be sent information about the event, instructions for attending a training session, and some preliminary training. There will be additional instructions for honors students in the email.

Orientations will be held on January 30 (Noyes 100), January 31 (Noyes 217), and February 1 (Noyes 100) at 6:00 PM. You only need to attend one of these days, and all majors are welcome. Please email thereactprogram@gmail.com with any questions or for more information. If you happen to miss the orientations but still want to volunteer, please contact us.
