The Department of Chemistry hosted a networking reception on Sunday, March 22, 2026, before the opening day of the ACS National Meeting in Atlanta.

Chemistry at Illinois alumni, faculty, students, postdoctoral researchers, and friends of the Department of Chemistry spent the evening at White Oak in downtown Atlanta, visiting and talking chemistry. Pictured at right are (from left to right) Scott E. Denmark, Reynold C. Fuson Professor of Chemistry at Illinois; Illinois chemistry alumnus Erick M. Carreira (B.S.,'84), full professor at the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences ETH Zürich; and Willi M. Amberg, a Ph.D. alumnus of the Carreira group at ETH Zürich.
