Research in the lab of Liviu M. Mirica, William H. and Janet G. Lycan Professor of Chemistry, is in the general areas of synthetic inorganic and organometallic chemistry and chemical biology. Research projects include the synthesis and characterization of novel transition metal complexes that can mediate multi-electron redox processes relevant to energy applications and oxidative organic transformations.

Faculty Research Webinar: Prof. Scott Denmark

Research in the lab of Scott E. Denmark, Reynold C. Fuson Professor of Chemistry, is primarily involved with the invention of new synthetic reactions, on the origin of stereocontrol in fundamental carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bond forming reactions, and in the application of these developments to the synthesis of complex molecular structures. A continuing theme of the work in these laboratories is the relationship between structure, reactivity and stereoselectivity in a variety of organo-element systems, particularly, silicon, phosphorus, tin, sulfur and lithium containing compounds.
