Joseph Forman Bunn III, 91, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2013. A dedicated father, grandfather, and husband, Joe lived a full life. He was born August 17, 1921, to Joseph Forman Bunn Jr., and Helen Link Bunn in Springfield, Illinois. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Central Europe in Company C, 8th Armed Infantry Division, known as the Liberators. He served from 1940 as a squad leader and staff sergeant until his honorable discharge in 1945. He then attended the University of Illinois earning a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. He worked many years as a chemist and retired in 1992 from CXI. He stayed busy in retirement with many hobbies including swimming, collecting World War II memorabilia as well as historical medals.

Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Phillips Bunn; brother, Charles Bunn; and brother-in-law, William Bales. He is survived by his three children: Richard Louis Bunn, Dr. Laura Bunn Aquino, and Susan Bunn Kirkpatrick; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and extended family including sisters-in-law, Jennie Milton and Mary Bales.
