Local SACNAS Chapter Awarded 2015 Graduate Chapter of the Year Award

SACNAS 2015 Chapter of the Year Awards iconThe national SACNAS (Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science) organization will recognize 13 of its chapters for outstanding achievements at the 2015 SACNAS National Conference October 29-31, 2015 in Washington D.C. The University of Illinois chapter will receive the 2015 Graduate Chapter of the Year Award. There are 115 SACNAS student chapters nationwide.

SACNAS is a society of scientists dedicated to the success of college students and professionals from Hispanic/Chicano and Native American backgrounds. Including individual chapters, the organization serves over 25,000 students and professionals each year with its conference and year-round programing focused on advancing members’ education, career growth and providing leadership opportunities.

The local SACNAS organization is greatly involved in campus STEM activities. Below are a couple of examples of the students' contributions.
