Prof. Catherine Murphy presents Melinda Sindoro the 2016 Klemperer Award.

On April 14, Melinda Sindoro presented her talk, "Colloidal Metal-Organic Frameworks" and was awarded the 2016 Klemperer Award.

The Walter G. Klemperer Dissertation Award in Materials Chemistry is presented each year to a chemistry graduate student in the Materials Chemistry Research Area for outstanding research. Eligible students are those nearing completion of their Ph.D. degree. The award included a certificate and $400.

Melinda Sindoro received her primary education in Indonesia, then enrolled at Nayang Technological University in Singapore where she majored in Chemistry and graduated summa cum laude with a BSc. While there, she developed her research in polymer phase separation under Professor Chen Hongyu and she was a President's Research Scholar. In 2011, she joined Steve Granick's research group to work on colloid and surface science. Her next challenge will be as a research fellow in the materials engineering lab of Professor Zhang Hua (Nayang Technological University) working on 2D ultrathin materials.
