Illinois chemistry alumnus Dale C. Blomstrom (PhD, '53) passed away on August 3, 2017, in Wilmington, Delaware.
After completing his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering at the University of Nebraska, Blomstrom came to Illinois where he studied with Roger Adams. After receiving his PhD in 1953, Blomstrom went on to a career in the DuPont Central Research Department in Delaware until his retirement in 1989.
According to his daughter Carol, Blomstrom was "particularly fond" of his time at Illinois.
