Peter Senter (PhD, ’81) part of Seattle Genetics team recognized with an ACS Heroes of Chemistry Award

Peter D. Senter (PhD, ’81, Coates) was one of six chemists from Seattle Genetics recognized with a 2018 ACS Heroes of Chemistry Award for their work to develop ADCETRIS, an innovative drug used in the treatment of Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

This annual award from the American Chemical Society “recognizes talented industrial chemical scientists whose work has led to the development of successful commercialized products ingrained with chemistry for the benefit of humankind.”

Senter joined Seattle Genetics in 1998 and has served as its vice president of chemistry since 2002, where his team conducts research on anticancer drug design, antibody-drug conjugate technologies for cancer therapy, and protein glycoengineering.
