Charmaine Ong, Chemistry major, was awarded The Illinois Club’s Make A Difference scholarship at their annual Scholarship Brunch on Saturday, March 2.

This $3,000 scholarship is awarded to students who have sophomore standing or higher and are significantly making an impact on their community and/or the world.  Char was selected due to her extensive community involvement, not only through RSOs such as Illini Medical Screening Society (IMSS), MEDLIFE UIUC, and Illini Emergency Medical Services, but also through her personal involvement with organizations such as Loaves & Fishes, the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, The Villas of Hollybrook, and tutoring at Centennial High School.
