WCC and YCC recognized with ACS ChemLuminary awards

2018 YCC board member Kyle Shelton (Doug Mitchell group) accepts the ChemLuminary Award at the fall 2019 ACS national meeting.

The Women Chemists Committee (WCC) and Younger Chemists Committee of East Central Illinois Chapter (YCC) were each recognized at the American Chemical Society’s fall 2019 national meeting with ChemLuminary Awards, which are given to recognize local sections, regional meetings, divisions, and international chapters.

The WCC received an award for Outstanding Women Chemists Local Section Event for their 2018 Bonding with Chemistry day camp. This is the third year in a row they have received this award.

The YCC was awarded Outstanding Local Section Younger Chemists Committee Award, also for the third year in a row, for their community outreach and professional development programming in 2018.
