Every year, as we prepare for the annual Image of Research exhibition, we are simply amazed at the diversity and beauty of graduate student research on our campus.

This year, we are excited to share the work of the 25 semifinalists through an online gallery. We invite you to explore the exhibition and vote for your top three entries. You have until the end of the day on April 30th to make your choices. Your votes will determine the People's Choice winner.

The first, second, third places winners and honorable mention recipients have already been selected by a panel of interdisciplinary judges...but you'll have to wait until May 1 to find out who won when we announce them all. Until then, enjoy the exhibition.

The semi-finalists are:

Image of Research is an annual multidisciplinary competition celebrating the diversity and breadth of graduate student research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It is organized by the Scholarly Commons of the University Library, the Graduate College, and supported by a generous gift from the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics.

The semi-finalists were chosen by an interdisciplinary panel who judged entries on 1) connection between image, text, and research, 2) originality, and 3) visual impact. In addition to the People's Choice award ($100), semi-finalists compete for First prize ($500), Second prize ($300), Third prize ($200), and Honorable Mention ($100).

Promotional materials are available in U of I Box.
For more details about the competition, see the Image of Research website.
