Scott Denmark awarded the Ryoji Noyori Prize

Professor Scott Denmark, the Reynold C. Fuson Professor of Chemistry, has received the 2019 Ryoji Noyori Prize, sponsored by Takasago International Corporation and administered by the Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan.

Established in 2002, the Ryoji Noyori Prize recognizes outstanding contributions to research in asymmetric synthetic chemistry.

Prof. Denmark is being recognized for pioneering the concept of chiral Lewis base activation of Lewis acids for catalysis with Main Group elements and developing palladium-catalyzed cross-couplings with organofunctional silicon compounds and mechanistic studies on the Suzuki-Miyaura cross coupling, among other research contributions.
